The Recovery Fund represents a great opportunity to relaunch research in Italy: not taking it could turn out to be a mistake, especially for the future of the new generations.
The president of the Accademia dei Lincei Giorgio Parisi is convinced of this and, together with other members of the famous scientific academy, launches an appeal in view of the political discussion on the Recovery Plan.
An appeal for which the members of the oldest scientific academy in the world choose to speak using social networks and from today decided to entrust their messages to a series of videos on YouTube.
Giorgio Parisi
"In Italy - Parisi affirms - there are excellent scientists, but they are getting older. Many young people, and how to blame them, go abroad to be able to implement their projects. there is a lack of funds and opportunities. Research is a door to the future that for us is ajar and is closing more and more. We must stop its slow decline and Italy must once again become a hospitable country for researchers. We must take advantage of the Recovery Fund to bring research back to the center of the country's interests and ensure the future of the next generations. This is a great opportunity for us and for all those who will come after us, but if we do not exploit it - concludes the President of the Lincei - we will regret it. long".
