The Covid-19 epidemic continues to spread in the overseas departments.
After Mayotte and Reunion, severely affected, Guadeloupe announced the establishment of a curfew from Sunday March 7, in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
"
I asked the government for authorization for curfews, which will be granted to me during the week,
" said Alexandre Rochatte, the prefect of Guadeloupe, at a press conference on Tuesday, March 2.
“
Curfews are not obvious steps to take, but ... they work.
We must avoid saturation of the hospital system so as not to find ourselves as in last September.
