Visualization of surveys on vaccination readiness in Germany
The mirror
Around 80 percent of the population must be vaccinated to stop the corona pandemic.
This is not only assumed by the virologist Melanie Brinkmann, but also by the German federal government.
Currently, just under three percent of Germans have received full protection, which is mainly due to the scarce vaccine.
But if enough doses for all adults are available at the end of summer, there could still be an obstacle on the way to 80 percent vaccination coverage: The Germans who do not want to be vaccinated.
Their proportion of the population varies depending on the survey.
According to the latest results of the Cosmo study at the University of Erfurt, 65 percent of those questioned would be vaccinated.
The Hamburg Center for Health Economics comes to a similar conclusion: 62 percent of Germans say that they would be ready for a vaccination.
The ZDF Politbarometer came in January to 67 percent, the ARD Germany trend in February even to 76 percent willingness to vaccinate.
And preliminary data from the Gutenberg Covid-19 study at the University of Mainz suggest that more than 85 percent would be vaccinated.
