E-car on the charging cable: "The need to catch up is increasing every day"

The traffic turnaround is rather unadorned: a exposed aggregate concrete flat building in the north of Hamburg, a parking lot in front of it, five gray and white charging stations on the edge.
A red e-Golf is connected to one of the charging stations, probably the most boring electric car that has ever been built.
Is this what the dawn of a new automotive world looks like?
Andreas Räber believes in it.
The employees of his communications technology company drive seven electric cars and two plug-in hybrids, and another four vehicles have been ordered.
Räber has invested 90,000 euros in the “charging points” on his doorstep.
His motivation?
"Technical interest," says Räber, "driving fun" - and a "grandchildren-friendly" future.
The mobility transition has so far only made slow progress
The electric car has arrived in the German industrial parks, not sexy, but overdue.
Räber is setting an example of what is urgently needed to achieve the climate goals: the rapid and massive expansion of electric mobility.
The state pays up to 9,000 euros when buying an electric vehicle.
In addition, the Federal Cabinet has launched the Fast Charging Act, Building Electromobility Infrastructure Act and Apartment Modernization Act in recent months.
The rules behind the word monsters describe where and how e-cars should be charged in Germany in the future.
