Excerpt from the series "Baby Bull in the Middle" by Here 11 starring Anat Waxman and Gili Itzkovich (here 11)

It has been several good years since the plots of Ruby Polishuk, the well-remembered UN Secretary-General, ended tragically when the plane took off with its smart bureau chief Solly Barzel and the energetic spokeswoman resurrected that the rabbi disappeared under the radar shortly after taking off from Cyprus, after a brilliant political achievement. The character of a miserable politician, miserable but not disgusting, who somehow managed not only to do damage.This ingenious series created by Shmuel Hasefri starring Sasson Gabay the Great, which pointed out ills in Israeli politics at the beginning of the millennium, has become a symbol of the misery of the political situation in general. Of the Knesset of Israel, Polishuk could have been considered almost a downfall.That

series ended with that great disaster in the words of one of the key figures in the series, the cunning adviser Kozo Avital, who stated: "Polishukes do not die, they just change." And here, just before the fourth election in two years, The book returns with another political comedy, centered on a man who almost accidentally gets into key roles, navigating his way through a slew of cynics - "Baby Bull in the Middle," which aired last night at 11 and airs every night on the channel.As in that series, the resemblance to reality is

At the center of "Baby in the Middle" is Shelly Mordechai (Gili Itzkovich, who recently appeared in "Blackspace"), a millennial born on November 4, 1995, whose father got into debt and the banking system abused her as a result.

As a member of the current generation, she is fighting back with the tools she has: a camera that broadcasts live to social networks, healthy anger, and spreading messages on a successful reality show.

A chance meeting led the chairman of the center-right "Bull in the Middle" party, Walnut Basalt Elbaz, a kind of Polishuk himself (Kobi Maimon), to add her to the list for the Knesset, without anyone thinking she had a realistic chance of entering. However, after three faction members leave, When the last of them puts an end to his life in light of the pressure exerted on him, she finds herself a destitute baby and becomes a MK.

While she is studying the work, between the plenum committees and faction meetings, cynical, bitter and puzzling politicians, lobbyists, advisers and even a cleric who barely hatched from the swamp move around, naming an egg yolk accordingly. All of them are pierced by sharp arrows one after the other. Almost all are embodied by Familiar faces, including Little Schwartz, Daniel Stegg, Avi Kushnir, Yaniv Bitton, Hisham Suleiman, Dana Devorin, Anat Waxman, Maayan Blum, Moshe Ashkenazi, Naomi Lvov, Eden Saban, Dalik Wolinitz (who also participated in Polishuk) and many more. Most likely, it seems, will be the battle between Kushnir, a lobbyist who runs the party, and Mordechai, who will refuse to cooperate with the capital-government.

From these materials a parody of the miserable parliamentary reality and its even poorer image is born, and baby Mordechai is the one who shouts that the king is naked and broadcasts it live to the net: she exposes the convictions, arrogance and narrow-mindedness twice - once in person and once with Am and Instush.

This is a likable character: she is ignorant and innocent but not stupid (or in her words: "I am young, not obscure"), and when she is not respected she knows how to give back.

She does this easily mainly because she does not count the mechanisms of honor and ego of the generations above her.

In chapter 4, for example, when she makes a mess in the committee, the chairman asks her if it is a media show. "Do I need you for a media show?", She replies.

This is a funny but optimistic character: in front of the rotten establishment, and instead of being condescending, the book believes this generation Can save the country from itself, and has the tools to do so. It would not last if Itzkovich's performance was not witty and wonderful. It's hard not to get angry with her about the banks, the budget, the inflated self - esteem of the people around her, or to have fun. From her clumsiness and divinity, Daniel Gad (in the role of the Glatznik) will also be mentioned, who, like a baby, is also a clown, of a different kind.

medium.

These characters and the happenings around them are fun to watch, and hold the series on their backs.

There are also some other flickers, such as a great scene in the second episode of the series, when a baby girl arrives for a conversation with the Knesset accountant and his two assistants, who become an amusing chorus of benefits, which suddenly takes the series into a slightly different genre.

But the rest, how to say, quite a "stamp in the middle", in the sense of mediocre.

It's a rather tedious comedy, especially around sleazy inventions like "The Next Surviving Brother," or the intra-party dynamics;

The other characters in the faction are very weak, and especially Hannah Hanina Hanan, a cripple who fights for Mizrahi victims of smoking, and is grotesquely and pointlessly designed;

The pace is also slow - with four episodes into the series we are still at the very beginning of the plot, and with the feeling that the story has not really started yet, and we are still being explained who is against whom.

And maybe what's really missing in the series is a kind of guide compass, a kind of iron solly, who knows what is the right thing to do and how to do it, and not just how to survive in the political jungle, like most cartoons in this fictional abode, that have difficulty identifying, sympathizing or appreciating.

And on the other hand, when looking at the real Mishkan, it's pretty clear which political gallery is gloomier.
