Covid-19: 5,327 new cases in 24 hours in France

Hospitals had 25,195 (+377) patients sick with Covid-19 on Monday, against 24,818 on Sunday, including 3,849 patients in intensive care.


5,327 new contaminations were detected in France in 24 hours, according to figures published on Monday, against 4,703 last Monday.

France now has 3,760,671 cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The daily figures for hospitalizations and intensive care of Covid-19 patients were up slightly on Monday.

Hospitals had 25,195 (+377) patients sick with Covid-19, against 24,818 on Sunday.

The admissions figure over the last 24 hours was 1584 (+864) against 720 the day before.

The intensive care units remain under great tension with 3849 patients on Monday (3743 Sunday) and 381 patients admitted in the last 24 hours (+194).

On the vaccination front, the DGS took stock on Monday on vaccination in town and the number of doses delivered.

Doctors received 550,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine the week of February 22 and 312,000 additional doses between March 4 and 5.

The DGS assure that they should receive 765,000 additional doses between March 11 and 12.

After this third order, more than

"1.6 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will have been delivered to doctors who have placed orders"

, specifies the DGS.

Regarding pharmacies,

"a first endowment of 67,000 doses of AstraZeneca will be delivered this week for vaccination in pharmacies in the departments most in epidemic tension"

.

Pharmacists will receive 280,000 doses next week.
