This Thursday, March 11, the sale of the first 8K television produced in Argentina begins.
It's the 75-inch Samsung Q 800 T, which the company claims features "revolutionary display features."
The television is assembled at the Iatec plant of the Mirgor group, in Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego.
"We decided to start producing this TV here because we brought the first 8K last year and we sold out in 15 days," surprises Rodolfo Romeo, director of mobile and TV sales at Samsung Argentina.
This 8K technology screen has 33 million pixels (
4 times more than 4K televisions
and 16 more than Full HD
televisions
) and 100% of the color volume.
The price: 599,999 pesos.
As until now there are few content platforms that offer productions in that quality (the
first consoles and 8K cell phones
are being incorporated
), this device adds Upscalling technology that, thanks to artificial intelligence,
transforms the image and sound quality that reaches the device to its full potential
, regardless of the source.
The secret of this automatic upgrade is the Quantum HDR2000 chip, whose main mission is to scale to 8K from lower resolutions with the highest possible quality.
The Q 800 T has a technology that brings non-8K images to the television to their full potential.
Another feature of this TV is that it has no borders and 99% of the screen can be used.
And continuing with the sound, the TV includes 6 speakers with a power of 70W and thanks to artificial intelligence, the sound is reproduced only in the exact place where the action occurs thanks to its OTS + (Object Tracking Sound +) technology.
“Since the second quarter of last year, with the arrival of the pandemic, we are seeing enormous
growth in the sale of premium products
.
It is explained because some consumptions of the middle class were left free, such as travel, and now many allocate that budget to high-end techno items, such as these televisions.
It is also seen in the market for more expensive consoles and cell phones, ”says Romeo.
The South Korean company told
Clarín
that this Thursday, March 11, the pre-sale of this television begins, at 599,999 pesos, in 18 installments without interest.
For a limited time, the purchase includes a
digital
eVoucher
of up to 48,999 pesos that can be exchanged for different "music packs", which can include a sound bar or a sound tower.
All in all, the price is very high.
In dollars, at the value of the solidarity or tourist, they are about 4,000.
The figure is high, but much lower than the output value of the first 4K television in the country.
It was in August 2013, and they were selling it for 350,000 pesos, which was equivalent to about $ 38,000.
The same was worth a studio apartment
in the City of Buenos Aires.
Today, seven and a half years later, 4K technology is the standard on large screens, which are available for less than 100,000 pesos.
Surely in a few years 8K technology will predominate, when its production reaches a scale such that it causes prices to fall and one of these displays costs well under $ 1,000.
