The schoolboy who threatened Friday in Metz with a knife a teacher who wanted to summon one of his parents because of academic difficulties was indicted Sunday and placed under judicial control, the prosecution said.
This 15-year-old teenager, who had "no previous judicial record", was referred to the end of his police custody and indicted by a children's judge for intimidation of a person charged with a mission of public service and the introduction of a weapon in a school establishment, indicates the prosecutor of the Republic of Metz, Christian Mercuri.
He was placed under judicial control with a ban from meeting the threatened teacher and from approaching the Philippe de Vigneules college where the facts occurred on Friday morning, according to the same source.
He will also be transferred to an educational establishment in Strasbourg, it was added.
"School difficulties"
According to the regional daily Le Républicain Lorrain, this 3rd grade student, originally from the Paris region, had recently arrived in the Metz region, where he was living with a member of his family.
Friday morning, while he was alone in a room with his teacher, he had threatened her with a "knife", on the grounds that she wanted to call "for an interview" the parent of the teenager, struggling with "academic difficulties", the police said in a statement.

The teacher, who was not injured, was able to take shelter and the teenager, "left alone in a room, was arrested by the police a few minutes later", according to the same source.
"No injuries are to be deplored at the end of the operation, during which" the schoolchildren "present in the establishment had also been put to safety," the police said.
"A listening cell for students and the educational team" has been set up within the college, according to the Metz-Nancy rectorate, and a "medico-psychological emergency cell (CUMP)" will be also activated Monday.
