Bezeq announces today (Sunday) the launch of the fiber optic network.

This is the largest infrastructure project in Israel that is being carried out across the country and with an investment of billions of shekels.

As of today, only about two and a half months from the start of the deployment, about a quarter of a million households across the country (center and periphery) can already connect to Bezeq's optical fiber.

As part of the launch, Bezeq offers two new surfing speeds;

600 megabits download and 60 megabits upload, and at a price of NIS 109 per month.

The 1 gigabyte download package, 100 megabit upload, will be offered at NIS 119 per month.

To the price must be added a payment to the supplier and an installation cost that is 900 NIS, but is offered on sale for a limited time for 450 NIS.

"I am excited and happy to launch Bezeq's fiber network for the first time today. It is a holiday for Bezeq and for the State of Israel. The entry of a company like Bezeq into the fiber market will lead to a revolution in the industry and by the end of the year 40% of households in Israel will enjoy ultra-fast speeds. "This has far-reaching effects on the Internet market in Israel, and on the Israeli economy and economy as a whole. This is also a business-significant step that will move Bezeq and Israel to the technological front of the world's advanced communications networks," said Dudu Mizrahi, Bezeq's CEO.

In addition, Bezeq announced that within a few weeks it will launch the fastest fiber package in Israel with a surfing rate of 2.5 GB.

To date, the maximum rate given to private customers by all companies is 1 gigabyte, so this is a doubling of the rate 2.5 times.

Bezeq's launch is a bit disappointing due to high costs compared to the other competitors.

Bezeq also requires an installation fee of NIS 900, a cost that some fiber companies do not have at all.

All the packages that Bezeq offers, an additional NIS 19.90 must be added and another NIS 900 for the installation.

Recently, Partner has also begun to expand the deployment of fiber optics to localities characterized by low-rise ground-level construction such as Oranit, which selected Partner to carry out a full networking project for all households in the locality and council institutions. The company implements Point-2-Point Gigabit Ethernet technology in its fiber infrastructure, and connects the optical fiber to the customer's home, so that Partner's fiber customers enjoy maximum surfing quality without sharing loads with neighbors even during peak hours.
