Towards the final elimination of the brand?
Samsung will not launch this year the next generation of its flagship series - Galaxy Note, according to the director of the company's mobile division, DJ Koh.
He said the main reason is a shortage of chips, and the announcement of the Note 21 series is expected to take place only in 2022.
Due to the spread of the corona virus around the world in the past year and the shift to work from home, the demands for advanced chips are skyrocketing, leading to a delay in the supply and production chain - and also affecting the South Korean technology giant that manufactures processors for other companies.
"The Galaxy Note is an important product line in our eyes that has been loved by consumers for the past ten years in the global market," Kav said.
"The S-Pen user experience is an area that Samsung has worked on more than anyone else. We will make sure not to disappoint buyers."
Last November it was reported that Samsung is planning to finally eliminate the Note series, as the company's smart pen supports the S21 Ultra model.
Also, according to the same publication, Samsung may also announce at an event to be held in June the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is expected to arrive for the first time with support for the S-Pen smart pen, and even be the "heir" of the Note series.
