Billions of people use services like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, all of which belong to the same company.

It is also interesting for the public what his boss Mark Zuckerberg does - professionally and, as far as this is possible for one of the most famous people on the planet, also privately.

In any case, the network is full of memes about the life of the Facebook boss.

They range from countless robot comparisons, most of which allude to a hearing in the US Congress in 2018, to modifications of photos showing Zuckerberg surfing the web with lots of white sunscreen or zinc ointment on his face.

In a conversation in the live audio app Clubhouse on Thursday, Mark Zuckerberg asked what his favorite meme was about himself.

As several US tech journalists unanimously report, he replied with "smoking meats".

The network jokes that Mark Zuckerberg is referring to are based on a Facebook video from October 2016 known as "Mark Zuckerberg smoking meats".

With the descriptive text "Live barbecuing in my garden", Zuckerberg started a live broadcast on Facebook and answered questions from users in front of the camera.

During the broadcast, Zuckerberg introduced his grills and emphasized several times that he was using them.

In the astonishingly banal, almost 33-minute broadcast, which can still be watched, Zuckerberg's family and his dog Beast could be seen.

"I love grilling and cooking, and that was silly," Zuckerberg said, according to Insider, "and I appreciate that everyone has fun."

He's grilling, but they too want to grill him

In the years after the first upload, Zuckerberg's good-humored chat in the garden was repeatedly used for memes.

Clips from the grill livestream, for example, were often mixed up with recordings of the Zuckerberg survey in the US Congress.

This cut made sense because some politicians had decided in advance to "grill" Zuckerberg with their questions.

A good example of such net gags is the song »Zucc Smokin Meats«, which appeared on YouTube in 2018 and which also shows scenes from a hearing in the EU Parliament.

YouTuber Tyler Cassidy also dedicated a song to Mark Zuckerberg's grill enthusiasm in 2019.

In 2020, a video compilation received a lot of attention, in which - at least this is the impression some YouTube comments give - many viewers apparently did not realize that it was a montage.

For the clip "Zuckerberg smoking meats while getting grilled by Congress" someone had combined scenes from Zuckerberg's recent congress hearing, which was carried out via video chat software because of the corona pandemic, with scenes from his grill livestream.

It seems as if Mark Zuckerberg has joined the US politicians from his garden, first of all to have small talk with them about barbecuing and to hold his dog in the camera.

YouTube users commented on things like "This is literally a minute Mark tries to convince people he's human" and "Normal guys dream of being billionaires.

Billionaires obviously dream of being normal guys ”.
