Election night summary: According to the samples, a close race between the blocs, Netanyahu has no 61 (Photo: Shai Makhlouf, Yotam Ronen, Niv Aharonson, Kobi Eliyahu, Benny Ben Simon, Shlomi Gabay, Roni Kanfo)
From the moment the polls close last night (Tuesday), the work of counting the votes begins, which is expected to continue in the coming days.
In the previous election it took the Election Commission three days to publish official results, but this time the process may be longer, due to the fact that the number of double envelopes has almost doubled, reaching about 600,000.
According to the director of the Election Commission, Adv. Orly Adas, the goal is to complete the count by Friday noon.
Once the ballot is closed, the votes are counted in each ballot box.
Only then are the ballot boxes, envelopes, and minutes taken to the Knesset, where the Election Commission carries out Operation "Election Purity."
As part of the operation, Election Commission employees and lawyers recruited from the public service are conducting tests at thousands of polling stations to look for discrepancies that may indicate forgeries or counting errors.
In most cases, the minutes and sheets of the polling station committee are inspected, and in a small number of polling stations, a recount is carried out.
While it is not clear whether a government will be formed or where we will go for a fifth election, the network could not resist and we collected the best responses.
