After a year in which she fell ill in Corona and recovered, the musician Shlomi received Shabbat with moving news when he was told that he would carry a beacon on the eve of the 73rd Independence Day of the State of Israel.
The decision was made by the ministers in charge of Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Culture Minister Hili Troper after approving the recommendations of the public committee.
Shabbat, 66, born in Yehud, was born to a family of immigrants of Turkish descent.
