The wave of new and renewed models on the way here (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Replacing a car is a decision made after a very long process of wrestling, examining alternatives and adjusting to needs, but there is one statistic to which customers are not always exposed - the expiration date of the car.

And since unlike food products, our vehicle does not have one embossed on it - we went out to check which of the more popular models in Israel are facing replacement in the coming months - if you are considering buying one of them, it is better to wait.

And if you still chose to go and buy one - the fact that it is facing replacement is a great leverage point for bargaining on the price you will be asked to pay.

These are of course not all the new cars that will be introduced during 2021, but a focus on existing replacement models that are currently being sold.

Opel Crossland: facelift and steering improvements (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Crossland: The

smallest of Opel's crossover models is not completely renewable, but will arrive after a facelift.

Unlike the current model called the Crossland X, it will be called the Crossland only, and the design remains very similar to the current model, but will add armature and according to Opel will also enjoy improvements to its chassis and steering.

Another model, but one that is completely new and does not replace it, is the Moka X, which is also expected to arrive in Israel this year.

Dacia

Sandro / Sandro Stepway:

Like most models of the Romanian manufacturer owned by the Renault-Nissan concern, the Super Mini Sandro is facing a replacement that is more of a new model.

This is his transition to the modern era, not only in terms of larger dimensions than before, but mainly treatment of the main weakness of the model - the safety systems.

In addition to these, we also see a replacement of the robotic gearbox with such a continuous one.

The expectation is that the model will become more expensive due to the changes.

Logan: As in the

past, Sandro also has a version designed for the "mini-family" market such as Accent, etc.

Here, too, an increase in dimensions, the addition of safety systems and a continuous gearbox are expected.

The new Hyundai i20, a leap in every aspect of the model (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Hyundai

i20:

The Korean manufacturer's super mini car is facing replacement in the very next few weeks.

A replacement that will bring with it a significant leap in all aspects of the model.

The length remains the same in favor of urban maneuvering, but the width increases slightly.

The manufacturer presented the equipped versions with an unusual 10.25-inch screen for the segment.

The engine is expected to be the familiar 1.0-liter turbo with 120 hp but will be equipped with a light hybrid system.

Hyundai i30:

Hyundai's compact family has received a refresh this year. Although it does not currently appear in the importer's offer, it is still an important model that impressed us Get here.On the menu: growth of the multimedia screen, improved safety systems, dual-clutch gearbox for the 1.0-liter engine and a new 1.5-liter engine with 160 hp that will replace the 1.4 with 140 horses.

Extroverted design reminiscent of the current sonata (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Elantra:

Hyundai's family sedan has been clinging to a coupe-like design for years and mainly revolves around vehicle fleets.

Its new generation, will come to us in a design reminiscent of the current sonata in smaller dimensions.

But the more interesting innovation will be beyond the hybrid engine, the one found in the Ionic nose.

Tucson:

One of the models that has been a constant growth engine at Hyundai for more than a decade and a half, is more or less a generic name for a compact Jeep, and is fast approaching us in a whole new generation that looks completely different.

The outgoing Tucson is already absent from the importer’s site but roams the 0km sites.

And congratulations to Hyundai for its daring in design (Photo: manufacturer's website)

The current generation is growing moderately relative to the outgoing generation (relative to the European version, the American version is larger).

It will offer a variety of engines ranging from atmospheric gasoline to plug-in.

The 1.6 turbo version with a power output of 150 or 180 hp, a dual-clutch gearbox and a light hybrid system will probably reach us. In terms of instrumentation, safety equipment and cabin, it should offer a significant leap compared to the outgoing generation.

Mazda CX-3 is one of the oldest in its group (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Mazda

CX-3:

Mazda's small crossover gets a second update to the model introduced back in 2014.

This is a very slight facelift so the interior and exterior design changes are minor.

There is also no change in the propulsion system that will continue to use the 2.0-liter atmospheric engine with 165 hp. The changes therefore focus on new front seats, connectivity to Android and Apple devices to the multimedia system, improvement to the automatic braking system (pedestrian detection at night). Isolation to reduce noise and improved behavior and comfort sections.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander, based on the Nissan X-Trail (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Mitsubishi

Outlander:

The new best-selling generation of the 7-seater Jeep Group is about to arrive in Israel and replace one of the oldest models in the Israeli market.

The new generation will benefit from the Mitsubishi move under the wings of the Renault-Nissan and will use the new Nissan X-Trail platform.

And that means a significant increase in that overall spacing of the third row and a significant upgrade of the driver environment.

A variety of safety systems.

The engine will probably have a 2.5-liter atmospheric 181 hp with a plug-in hybrid version joining later. All of these innovations will probably have a price and are expected to be higher than that of the current generation, which has helped it a lot to reach its status.

Eclipse Cross:

Mitsubishi's crossover whose exterior design is a major attraction, gets a facelift. The change at the front focuses on a more aggressive appearance and with a new arrangement of the lighting units. At the rear, Mitsubishi gives up the split windshield. In terms of propulsion systems it will continue to make use of the current 1.5-liter turbo engine and continuous gearbox. However, the manufacturer has announced that it intends to market it in the plug-in version in selected markets, but without official details about the engine it will use, whether it will be the atmospheric 2.4 combined with outgoing generation electric units of the Outlander or a newer engine.

Part B in which we will continue the review with models of Nissan, Suzuki, Kia, Ssangyong and others will be published soon.
