Racist, violent and nostalgic for the Third Reich, a 24-year-old man was indicted this Friday in Sables-d'Olonne (Vendée) before being imprisoned.
He is suspected of having threatened to attack one of the mosques in Le Mans (Sarthe) last month on social networks, but also of having weapons.
This curious story begins one night in early March when a 17-year-old young man logs into the "Azar" application which allows random video contact with strangers.
This boy comes across a funny character with his temple tattooed with a swastika who threatens to attack him and come with friends to attack the mosque in Le Mans (Sarthe).
The next day, the boy goes to the Angers police station (Maine-et-Loire) and files a complaint for threats.
"This teenager had the intelligence to take screenshots of all the words of this strange interlocutor," said a source close to the case.
Weapons and a series of relics of the Third Reich
Investigators from the Angers judicial police lead the investigations and are quick to identify their suspect.
He is a violent young man known to the police for a multitude of petty crimes.
His location poses more problems because he is homeless.
After several weeks of research, he was finally arrested this Wednesday in Challans (Vendée), before being placed in police custody in the premises of the PJ.
During searches, the police got their hands on several weapons: hunting rifles, shotguns and 22 long rifle rifles.
They also got their hands on a whole series of airsoft gun replicas.
And then, evocative of the political convictions of the suspect, they also find on a series of relics of the Third Reich.
During the hearings, the suspect confesses and affirms that he "does not support the North Africans".
He explains that his threats, made under the influence of alcohol and psychotropic products, were intended to annoy his interlocutor.
Investigators scanned his computer and found that he had been researching explosives.
The rest of the investigations will tell if he really planned to attack a place of worship.
