Open diaries: The technology giant will unveil a series of new products at an event to be held in exactly one week • Among the innovations: Smart tags for locating objects • All the details
For a long time now we have been hearing various reports about Apple's next announcement event.
Now, by mistake (or not), the official date has been revealed - Tuesday, April 20th.
The information was revealed by the company's virtual assistant, Siri, when asked "When is the next Apple Event".
"The special event is on Tuesday, April 20, at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. You can get all the details at Apple.com," Siri said in response to a question.
If you try to ask it you will not get the same answer, as it only appears to US residents (or accounts associated with the state).
Apple usually announces the events through invitations sent a week in advance, which means we may see the official report later in the day.
The company did not specify what it will reveal, but it is estimated that these are three new iPad models and smart tags for locating objects - AirTags.
The tracking tags can be attached to various objects - such as keys, suitcases, bicycles or a wallet, and then located using the Find My app found on all Apple devices - similar to Samsung's SmartTag.
