Skoda unveils the first official sketches of the new Fabia, the fourth generation of the brand's compact best-seller. The compact model will be larger and will boast a more dynamic aesthetic impact than in the past.
The move to the Volkswagen Group's MQB-A0 platform has made new proportions possible, offering even more space for passengers and luggage. Focal points of the new stylistic language will be the front and rear light units in LED technology.
Pending the world premiere scheduled for in May, the VW group brand has announced that the new Fabia will be 111 millimeters longer and 48 millimeters wider than the previous model.
In addition to more space for passengers, this also brings a larger luggage compartment capacity of 50 liters.
The front view offers a first look at the flat headlights and the large grille, enhanced by the chrome frame with black ribs. The larger diameter of the wheels also contributes to the feeling of dynamism.
The elongated rear spoiler, with side flaps, ensures excellent aerodynamics together with the aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors and electronically controlled air intakes in the lower air intake of the front bumper.
The front light clusters are a cornerstone of the renewed design. The new clean-cut full-LED modules stand out, extending to the grille. The daytime running lights will have an "L" shape. The crystalline elements typical of Skoda design are also found in the structure of the elongated rear lights, which will also be available in a full-LED version.
