A 27-year-old man, suspected of the murder of his wife on the night of Monday to Tuesday in Chartres, was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention, the Chartres prosecutor's office announced on Thursday.

During his custody, the suspect, a waiter in a restaurant in Paris of Senegalese nationality, claimed to have put to flight an individual who had just assaulted his wife in the parking lot of their building, before warning the firefighters, specified the Attorney of the Republic of Chartres, Rémi Coutin.
