Opel is considering a revival of its former coupé classic Manta as an electric car.
"Germany seems to be waiting for the Manta," said Opel boss Michael Lohscheller, quite confidently to the magazine "Business Insider".
The car manufacturer recently presented the Manta GSe ElektroMOD study.
"In my wildest dreams I would not have expected the feedback to be so overwhelming," claimed Lohscheller.

Opel's market research will "definitely" play through a potential series version, Lohscheller told the portal: "And then we will answer the question: New Manta, yes or no?" , Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep and Maserati.
Originally, the Opel Manta should transfer the success of the so-called pony cars, such as the Ford Mustang, from the USA to Europe and compete with the Ford Capri.
Despite the Manta jokes, the car was a success, and more than 470,000 copies were registered in Germany.
Recycling the names of successful models is also a trend, for example Ford recently brought back the Puma, which is no longer a small coupé, but a compact SUV.
The same applies to the Mustang, which, in addition to its existence as a coupé, became the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV.
