Sad discovery in a Marseille cemetery.
Six graves of veterans who died for France were degraded this week at Saint-Pierre cemetery, according to information from France Bleu Provence.
Death plaques and vases were smashed, and several photos of the deceased hammered, according to photos posted on the radio website.
There would be "no particular link between the six deceased", assures the local media Bernard Criscuolo, general delegate of the Souvenir Français association in the Bouches-du-Rhône, adding that these graves are close to each other, "In a place of the cemetery out of sight".
"It is desecration! I do not understand this cowardice of preying on the dead who gave their lives so that we can live in a free nation" https://t.co/Sfbc6F8EIM

"It's a desecration!
I do not understand this cowardice of going after dead people who gave their lives so that we could live in a free nation.
», Explains the delegate in charge of the maintenance of the graves.
And to add: "This is the first time that this has happened since I have been a delegate".
No specific target community
However, these acts would not seem to target a particular community, judges the volunteer.
“The grave on which they were most desperate, even hammering the photo of the deceased, is that of an Armenian killed during the Funny War.
Alongside, that of a resistant Marseillais also passed there, ”he reports.
The volunteer said he had lodged a complaint and also questioned the mayor (PS) of Marseille Benoît Payan, as well as the prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône on these degradations. No official reaction had yet been given on Friday.
