In particular, Brabus engineers have updated the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 of the top-of-the-range model of the current GLE generation, also modifying the configuration of the two turbochargers. The mapping of the electronic engine control unit has also been reprogrammed to recalibrate the boost pressure control and further optimize the power output. All this, without compromising the 'durability' of the engine, an engine for which extensive tests were carried out both on the test benches, as well as on the track and on the road.
The result was an overall increase in power of 185 HP, as well as a torque increase of 150 Nm. The performance is like a true supercar, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds. and a top speed electronically limited to 280 km / h. In addition, Brabus offers the optional #Brabus memory system, which can permanently deactivate the standard automatic start-stop system. The sports exhaust system in steel signed by the German tuner also contributes to 'seasoning' it, with electronically regulated exhaust flaps which optimizes the performance of the engine, emphasizing the 'notes' of the V8. This system makes it possible to actively manage sound directly from the driver's seat,via a button that allows you to switch from Sport mode to a more moderate Coming Home mode.
Not only on the engine, however, Brabus' attention has been concentrated. Numerous changes have been made to the exterior, thanks to a specially designed aerodynamic kit, including a new grille, redesigned bumper and larger air intakes. At the rear, however, the large carbon fiber diffuser stands out. The suspension has been lowered thanks to new suspension and the rims have been increased to 24 inches. Inside the passenger compartment, then, Alcantara and leather in profusion.
