Despite the reopening of cinemas, theaters and terraces since May 19, the number of hospitalized patients in France continues to decline.

2,993 people are currently in critical care because of the coronavirus in France: they were still 3,028 on Saturday and 3,104 on Friday.

There have been this Sunday, at present, 44 new deaths, bringing to 82,990 the total number of deaths recorded as a result of the virus in France since the start of the epidemic.

Signs of the new decline in severe forms observed in patients with the virus, there were only 43 new intensive care admissions today, about thirty fewer than last week. As for the number of cases identified, it was 8,541 today, a figure lower by more than a thousand than last Sunday.

In addition, the age or state of health criteria to be vaccinated are over: from this Monday, the entire major population of France will be eligible for vaccination against Covid-19, a crucial step to avoid a rebound in the epidemic as restrictions are gradually easing. The 18-49 year olds were officially the last category to be able to join the vaccination campaign without conditions, which has widened in stages since its start at the end of December. To date, more than 25 million French people have received at least a first dose of vaccine, and 11.6 million have received all of the doses necessary for complete vaccination coverage.
