Just before she set out to conquer the biggest stages in the world, Amit Slonim saw Noga Erez bounce off the Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv, and decided to put the visitor's hat aside for a change

Noga Erez's performance is a visible miracle.

We will miss her when she performs in London and New York

One can fill this critique with clichés about the exact energy bomb that is Noga Erez, about the chemistry with Rousseau or about the fan base that has become material in the creative hand.

You can also put the visitor's hat aside, and just enjoy this rare phenomenon, just before the corona plague disappears and Erez sets out to conquer the world.

No masks, no bullshit.

The truth? I did not intend to publish this review at all. I left the visitor's hat at home this time and went to a Noga Erez Neto show to enjoy. Because of that, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere more freely than usual. Or in other words: I drank. celebration. I almost forgot when I was last in a standing show under the open sky, with no social distance, no masks, no bullshit. An hour of escape from reality. Doing it without beer in hand is just not the same.

But there are moments that must not be forgotten, and must be shared. Noga Erez's performance at the Zappa complex in Hayarkon Park last Thursday was such a moment. This is not a show to send a music critic to, but a historian. A heavy sense of moral responsibility is sitting on my fingers right now as they type these words: Go see Noga Erez. Thank me later.

Even before the show started, there was a sense of a special event in the air.

A kind of festive nostalgia atmosphere, like the union of "friends" only with much less Botox.

There was even a magnet photo booth!

People met guys, hugged, took selfies from a variety of angles, smoked, rolled and smoked some more.

Girls went together in groups to the bathroom, men went to stand in line to get another drink.

Everything felt so natural, and so familiar, and yet everything felt like a dream.

Seven minutes of heaven After nine o'clock, Noga Erez was already on stage.

The crowd was in shock, as if he did not remember that was why he had come to the park.

This is the best pop album of the year.

Not a performance for music critics, but for historians.

So maybe it's the beer (and the gin, oh the gin) that speaks from my throat, but what the hell was that ?! I can shoot here all the usual clichés about Shanga Erez opening her strongest and slowly increasing the lady. I can write about it being a one-time precision energy bomb that did not downshift for an hour. I can say that the only thing better than Noga Erez's KIDS album is to see Noga Erez perform the songs of Noga Erez's KIDS album in a performance by Noga Erez (and Russo, oh Russo!). I can write "Noga Erez" many more times and it does not matter - because those who have already been exposed to this phenomenon already know what the fans at the Sold Out show knew - it is a lift. A visible miracle in a time of disasters. An oasis after such a long period of drought.

And the thing is, this is not a particularly invested show. Noga Erez in the front. Behind her on the sampler are Uri Russo (music and life partner) and Ren Jakubowicz on drums. On a technical level it reminded me of a show exactly in this format of Kenya West that I had seen in London, which happened to be also the worst show I have ever seen. All the pressure in a show of this kind falls on the man or woman with the microphone. All eyes on them. With all due respect to the mesmerizing beats of "You're So Done" or the addictive chorus of "End of the Road" - in the end everything falls on the shoulders of one young woman. I do not know how she does it, I'm not sure if she herself knows how she does it, but she just held the audience in her palm for an entire hour. Sailing, I still slipped into clichés.

Along with the ASK of the last days of the "Green Note", the audience was looking for a show of songs, and Erez was there to deliver the goods. Tickets were almost unavailable, and the audience was thirsty for a show of this kind. The crystallized, the audience will be pleased with the matter.

As mentioned, I even came to enjoy, I did not even intend to write a review. And yet the feeling began to creep into my lower back that it could have been done even better. I felt like grabbing Noga Erez by the ear, making her tea and working with her on all the things that could have made her excellent performance perfect. The show is short enough (net hour) to add elements to it that will enrich her, not to mention another cover or two (where did the stunning "brought the fall"?) And her music is sweeping enough and her audience is currently loyal enough to try "on wet" material on it Instead of going for sure.

But heck, the year is the damned 2021 and everything feels petty and unimportant in the face of this wonder. The very fact that we are in a musical show feels like a miracle, so who even needs to criticize something so beautiful? And here, Noga Erez suddenly stops her performance in the middle of the second song, she is probably informed that another war has started somewhere and she has to stop and bring us all back to reality but no, she just scolds with a smile in Rousseau that he is not keeping up with her. She does it without losing a drop of self-confidence. It's not clear if it's the adrenaline or some burning self-belief, but she just started the song anew as she smiles at the stunned audience who does not understand how he got to see the talent bomb dripping this life-size charisma, in real time.

Admittedly, we were privileged to see Noga Erez up close a little more than we deserve.

The KIDS album came out just in time while the whole world was still stuck in curfew.

When someone upstairs finally listened to our prayers and brought the cultural world back to life, Erez's comeback appearance was postponed because of the disaster on Mount Meron.

Then came Operation Wall Guard.

Still, we arrived, despite everything.

With music coming from a different continent, a show that feels from a time we thought was over and a creative performer who breaks out at just the wrong time - we were privileged to see a show that usually has to fly overseas to experience. Square Garden.
