It was around 11 a.m. on Friday in Arles.
The “RNmobile” of Enzo Alias, candidate of the National Rally in the next departmental elections in the canton, had stopped shortly before.
Accompanied by a party activist, he had come to put up posters in his name in the city center.
It was there that they would have been violently attacked by two inhabitants, announced at first France Bleu Provence.
In a video posted by the candidate on Twitter, the assailant is seen cursing the candidate and the activist, a can of oil in his hand.
He ends up throwing liquid on the victims before approaching them seemingly wanting to put a blow.

The situation would then have degenerated.
The attacker, armed with a baton, allegedly struck the candidate and the activist several times.
Both were taken to hospital.
The injuries observed testify to the violence of the aggression.
The activist is said to have a fractured tibia and a "significant" concussion.
He had to spend a night in hospital observation.
The candidate, meanwhile, had a head trauma.
The aggressor, with a baton in his hand, violently hit my friend's shin, the baton is bent, the blow was so violent.

Several RN officials gave their public support to the candidate on social networks. Jordan Bardella, candidate in Île-de-France, calls on the Prime Minister: “Should we wait for a tragedy before Jean Castex asks for restraint from his ministers? ". RN number two here alludes to statements made by some members of the government. Eric Dupond-Moretti had thus justified his candidacy in the North by his desire to drive out the “National Rally”. Her colleague Olivia Grégoire, Secretary of State for the Social Economy, united and responsible, designated the RN as "enemy to be destroyed".
