The former companion of a thirty-something shot Friday afternoon in Monéteau (Yonne) was indicted Sunday for "murder" and imprisoned, we learned from the prosecutor of Auxerre Hugues de Phily.
The man was already known to justice for domestic violence.
He is suspected of having murdered his ex-partner, a young woman of 32, shot dead on Friday in a public parking lot in the center of Monéteau, located behind the La Poste agency.
According to witnesses alerted by the shots and quoted by France Bleu radio station, the 34-year-old man shot his ex-girlfriend twice, then a third time ten minutes later.
For this, he used "a hunting weapon", confirms the magistrate at the Republican Yonne.
The alleged shooter was "the holder of a hunting license".
He had been arrested by the municipal police.
He gives few explanations for his gesture
During his custody, the suspect gave only "very little explanation" to the investigators, showing amnesia, said the prosecutor of Phily.
The magistrates however retained the premeditation to his gesture.
At the beginning of the year, the young woman had filed a complaint against her former companion and had attended an association to help victims of domestic violence.
The man had been the subject of a criminal composition, an alternative to legal proceedings, for which he had to follow a course to raise awareness of domestic violence, added the prosecutor.
He had no other conviction.
The couple have two young children, 18 months and 5 years old.

This year, according to the feminist collective NousToutes, 53 women died killed by their spouse or ex-spouse.
