"We got rid of Haman" - this is what singer Ahinoam Nini sang last night in a performance in Rabin Square in front of thousands who celebrated the inauguration of Bennett and Lapid's change government. Those two words caused a stir on social media. During the evening, in front of the audience celebrating the end of Netanyahu's tenure, Nini performed an adaptation of Kevin's song "We will rock you", which became "Democracy" and the new lyrics she wrote for the song in Hebrew included the lines: "There were people who were willing / reduced their ego Small / and that's how we got rid of Haman / We got rid of Haman. "
Following its comparison between the figure of the oppressor of the Jews from the Book of Esther and the outgoing Prime Minister Netanyahu, it has received much criticism on the networks, mainly from people identified with the right side of the map.
The songwriter Yossi Gispen wrote on Facebook: "Where is the police and where is the media? If this is not incitement, then what is incitement?".

After her appearance, Nini wrote more things on her Facebook page last night, but did not apologize: "The new government is not a dream of my life but its very establishment is a certificate of honor for the State of Israel, and for leaders who reduced ego, increased their heads, compromised, did not succumb to intimidation Israel for all its citizens, before their personal good. Problematic comparisons to negative figures from the Book of Esther are not the domain of a single political party.
A little over three years ago, the Minister of Culture attacked elements in Israeli law institutions, claiming that they would do everything in their power to overthrow Netanyahu.
She compared Judge Ronit Poznanski-Katz and lawyer Eran Shaham-Shavit to Bagatan and Tarsh from the Book of Esther, who planned to assassinate the king.
"As we read this week in the Book of Esther, there were gatekeepers there as well. In Gatan and Tarsh, a cute duo. They looked stately, kept the rule of law, took care of proper administration, but it turns out that deep in their pockets they held a guillotine."
