Over the past six months, the gendarmes have established a criminal scenario based on the inconsistencies in the husband's account of the night of the tragedy, the testimonies collected and technical investigations, including wiretapping.
Thus Cédric Jubillar was questioned about his knowledge of the existence of Delphine's hidden affair with a young man met on the Internet, and whose Le Parisien-Today exclusively revealed his testimony.

The investigators are however convinced that the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, at their home in Cagnac-les-Mines, Cédric and Delphine had an argument about the young woman's imminent plan to leave him to settle down with that who has been nicknamed "the lover of Montauban".

For the gendarmes, Cédric Jubillar would have fallen that night on the exchanges on Snapchat between Delphine and her new companion, which could have triggered the passage to the murderous act. In particular, he could have intercepted this photo of the nurse in underwear that she had sent to her confidant at 10.58 p.m. Did Cedric take advantage of a moment of inattention from his companion to look at his phone? The confidant of Montauban is in any case the last person to have exchanged with Delphine Jubillar and her testimony does not agree with that of the husband.
The thesis of a fit of anger on the part of Cédric Jubillar after the discovery of his partner's relationship seems to be supported by another technical element. According to our information, investigators discovered on his phone screenshots taken from the nurse's smartphone. Among these images is a photocopy of the profile of Delphine's hidden lover on a social network. From December 16 in the early morning, a few hours after the disappearance of the nurse, Cédric Jubillar would also have entrusted the fruit of his discoveries to a person close to him.
