Rapper Moha La Squale indicted for sexual assault and violence

Rapper Moha La Squale was indicted Wednesday for "sexual assault" and "violence" by spouse as well as for "kidnapping" following the accusations of several women, said a judicial source, confirming information from Le Monde.

The subject of a preliminary investigation since September, the 26-year-old artist, whose real name is Mohamed Bellahmed, was taken into custody on Monday, according to the daily.

During the latter, according to a source familiar with the matter, at least one confrontation was organized with one of the complainants.

On Wednesday, the rapper was presented to a magistrate as part of a judicial investigation opened by the Paris prosecutor's office.

"He was indicted in particular of counts of violence by spouse, sexual assault by spouse, death threats by spouse and kidnappings on different victims", and placed under judicial control, indicated the judicial source.

"Only a first step"

Moha La Squale has been the subject of six complaints, most of which came to light in September 2020.

The first three complainants were presented as former companions aged 23 to 28 of the Parisian rapper.

A fourth woman filed a complaint on September 11 and a fifth on September 22.

"The investigations have shown how much the word of my clients is as reliable as it is constant", welcomed the lawyer for four complainants, Me Thibault Stumm.

“It is a great satisfaction for my clients who have been living under the pressure of this business for months.

By this indictment, the judge fully noted the existence of serious and consistent evidence.

Keep in mind that this is only a first step, ”added the council.

Contacted, Me Elise Arfi, the artist's lawyer, did not respond immediately.
