Promo for the program "The Next Star" in Rainbow 12, which shows Ninet Tayeb, Neta Barzilai, Raviv Fiddler, Ella Li Lahav and Margie (Rainbow 12)

Last night (Saturday) a show was broadcast on the program "The Next Star" (Rainbow 12) in which a contestant who came to a spa that was specially built in the studio, found himself auditioning in surprise.

The person who took part in the prank is the presenter of the program, Rotem Sela, who got into the shoes of "Reli", the director of the "Mountain View" spa.

Sela underwent a make-over for several hours, during which her straight hair became curly, she operated heavily, and freckles and glasses were added.

So why did the character of "Reli" cause so much outrage? Because during the program, there were those who referred to the makeover that Rotem Sela went through as a "process aimed at tarnishing the presenter." The "Curly" Facebook page published a post by a young curly woman named Ricky Klein, which read: "A program involving young people, some curly, some with glasses, some freckled or dark-skinned - did you stop for a moment to think about who might watch the episode where you choose to take a wife Beautiful and 'ugly' her with all the known clichés in history? Dark hair? Brown eyes? Glasses and freckles? And the cherry in the whipped cream - curls? And declare on the broadcast - how much does it hurt her?

"What are you teaching that young generation who is watching this show, who is participating in this show? And yes, there are also completely ordinary people, who look just like 'Ugly Rotem', who walk around this world, between you, with curls, glasses and freckles. So to you and your friends in the valley "Pines (who broadcast an article about Rotem Sela's makeover), who also chose to be precise about what the ideal of beauty is, is very sad that you are not using your power for something positive."

Comedian and actor Nadav Abaxis also criticized the way in which the character of "Reli" was portrayed in a Twitter tweet: "It's beyond 'ugly'. It's giving a look to speak and not a profession. Since when to get a massage is to get a date with the beauty queen? "And it's a joke, but the subconscious says: 'You're not pretty - you're worth less. And it's no different from years of subconscious in commercials; you're a washing machine technician - you're Oriental."

The "Next Star" Facebook page also posted several comments that attacked the program that portrayed Rotem Sela as "uglier": "Ugly? What's the problem with hair? That's how plastic culture is encouraged. Shame on you," a surfer wrote.

Another added: "It just makes sense that curls and glasses are just the pinnacle of ugliness. I wonder how curly girls or with glasses feel now. Shame on you."

The "Next Star" has not yet commented.
