The councilor was first concerned about the active circulation of the Delta variant in his city and in the Paca region, during an interview on LCI on Monday. “

In the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolis, we have one of the lowest rates of virus circulation and one of the highest vaccination rates. But it is insufficient,

”thus assured the president of the metropolis. This is why he would consider asking the government to set up a health pass at the local level. It would therefore be necessary to present either a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR or antigen test in order to be able to eat in restaurants or go to the opera, for example. He is said to have initiated discussions, accompanied by several mayors, with the government on this subject.

The mayor hopes in this way to encourage the people of Nice to be vaccinated to reach 80% of the vaccinated population by the end of the summer.

This Tuesday, the country has also reached a milestone since 50% of the general population has now received at least one dose of vaccine.

Anticipating the influx of tourists this summer, Christian Estrosi could also take more stringent measures if the health situation were to worsen in his city, such as wearing a mask outdoors in certain sectors for example.
