The woman suspected of assaulting the Congolese FC Lorient striker, Yoane Wissa, as well as having kidnapped the newborn baby of a young mother has been indicted and placed in detention, announced the Lorient prosecutor's office.

Aged just over 30, she admitted to having burned the footballer with a corrosive product on the night of July 1 to 2.

In Ploërmel, in the small town of Morbihan in which the athlete lives, she entered his home, a can in hand before spraying the striker on the face and chest.

Indictment for attempted murder, kidnapping and for violation of home and violence with a weapon.

Burned in the eyes, the Congolese international was transported to Lorient hospital and operated on in the wake.

Fortunately, he has not lost his visual acuity and is expected to resume training shortly.

During her hearing, the woman also admitted to assaulting a woman and abducting her newborn baby, posing as a social worker.

She explained “having suffered a miscarriage which she then concealed from those around her”.

"Cornered by her lies and various stratagems she had found no other solution than to abduct a newborn child who could physically correspond to that which was expected", explains the prosecution.

Spotted after her second assault by witnesses who had rescued the mother, she was found on July 3 by the police with the newborn baby, specifies the vice-prosecutor of Lorient.

The police reconciled the two facts because she "responded to the report of the woman who attacked Mr. Wissa, who was also the father of a little girl of a few weeks", a child whom she denies having attempted to abduct.

She was indicted on charges of "attempted murder, kidnapping and attempted kidnapping of a person under the age of 15, home invasion and violence with a weapon," said the prosecution.
