A mountaineer in his sixties was killed this Sunday in the Isère massifs.
The alert was given around 11:30 am, specifies the Dauphiné Libéré.
The victim was then with a companion near the pavement refuge, at an altitude of 2,500 meters, in the town of Villar-d'Arêne in the Hautes-Alpes.
According to the first elements the pair was not roped when he started the ascent of Pointe Claire, a progression in steep but easy terrain.
It was at this time that the sixty-year-old suffered an accidental fall from nearly 200 meters, which was fatal.
A judicial investigation to shed light on the circumstances of his death was opened and entrusted to the CRS des Alpes.
