A 47-year-old woman is suspected of having killed her companion with several stab wounds on the evening of July 15 in Sète (Hérault).
She was taken into police custody, the Montpellier public prosecutor said on Friday.
"In a context of heavy alcoholism", this woman "would have stabbed her companion several times on the evening of July 15 at around 11 pm" and the man, aged 52, "would have died of a hemorrhage. massive, ”said Fabrice Bélargent.
“The woman being under the empire of a very important alcoholic state was taken into custody but has not yet been heard.
However, she verbally indicated that her companion: a woman in custody for having stabbed her companion to death had hit her, ”added the prosecutor.
He also said that an investigation of flagrance had been opened for "homicide on spouse" and that an autopsy of the victim was scheduled for Friday.
The magistrate added that the victim was convicted in 2010 for domestic violence on a previous spouse, and that the police intervened at the end of 2020 for a family dispute at the home of the couple, who had also consumed a lot of alcohol that day. .
