Federal justice announced Wednesday the indictment of Tres Genco, suspected of having wanted to carry out a large-scale shooting against students of a university in Ohio.

This 21-year-old American belonged to the misogynist “Incel” (short for involuntarily celibate), had been arrested on March 12, 2020, in possession of weapons and after having posted numerous hate messages on the Internet.

Tres Genco has already been sentenced to 17 months in prison for "terrorist threats" by the justice of the State of Ohio, in the north of the United States.

His sentence coming to an end, he was arrested again on Wednesday, by the federal police this time.

A grand jury indicted him for attempted murders under the federal law on so-called “hate” crimes (racist, misogynist, homophobic…).

According to the indictment, Tres Genco wrote a manifesto in which he said he wanted to “massacre” women “out of jealousy and revenge”.

That same day, he researched student residences and an Ohio state university online.

In another note, he had hoped to "hit hard" and kill 3,000 people.

In parallel, Tres Genco had bought two pistols, a bulletproof vest, ammunition, but also a skull mask and a hooded sweatshirt crossed out with the word "revenge".

From August to December 2019, he had undergone military training at a base in Georgia.

And in January 2015, he had scouted a college campus, while learning about ways to commit a crime.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a weapon equipped with a device for firing at a rapid rate.
