Nicknamed "Haurus", the DGSI police officer who marketed confidential information on the "Darknet" was sentenced this Thursday to seven years in prison, two of which were suspended by the Nanterre criminal court.

The prosecution had requested seven years in prison against this 35-year-old former police sergeant, who was being prosecuted for ten counts and had recognized the majority of the charges against him, claiming to have acted out of profit.

Since the start of his trial on Tuesday, Haurus, who worked in an anti-terrorism unit of the General Directorate of Internal Security, had explained that he had started his illicit activities to “put butter in the spinach”.

Before the correctional court of Nanterre, the prosecutor Catherine Denis had denounced an "individual divested of moral sense and scruple" who "betrayed the Republic by unspeakable behavior" and demonstrated a "total lack of remorse".
