Horror scene in the streets of Montargis.
A woman in her fifties was stabbed several times by her ex-companion, in the middle of the street in the city of Loiret on Wednesday, announced the Montargis public prosecutor Loïc Abrial.
The vital prognosis of the victim was engaged Wednesday evening, according to the prosecution.
The attack took place in a parking lot in the city center, "shortly after 6:00 p.m.", indicates the magistrate.
The firefighters immediately intervened on the spot, before transporting the victim to the Center hospitalier de la agglomération montargoise (Cham), according to La République du Center.
The suspect in custody for attempted murder
The man suspected of being the author of the attack, "fled by car", before being arrested by a patrol of the gendarmerie near Gien (Loiret), the local daily still notes.
The 49-year-old suspect was taken into custody for an attempted assassination, as part of the flagrant criminal investigation opened by the Montargis prosecutor's office.
The investigation was entrusted to the Montargis police station.
