Pierre Alessandri, 62, had to leave his cell in Poissy (Yvelines) in August to join a Corsican prison.

During a hearing on June 28 at the anti-terrorism penalty enforcement court, one of the convicts for the assassination of Prefect Claude Érignac in Corsica had obtained a semi-liberty regime.

But the decision is suspended by an appeal from the prosecution, reveals his lawyer on Wednesday.

Sentenced in 2003 to life imprisonment with an irreducible sentence of 22 years in prison for his participation in the organization of the assassination of the prefect on February 6, 1998, he had admitted the facts before the Assize Court, recalls Le Point, who revealed the information. "Within the commando led by Alain Ferrandi, Alessandri's role consisted in providing cover for Yvan Colonna, designated as the shooter by his accomplices".

The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (Pnat) confirms that it has appealed against this decision which allowed Pierre Alessandri to benefit from a transfer and probationary semi-liberty to the prison of Borgo (Haute-Corse) from August 20.

The court also granted parole effective August 20, 2023, Pnat confirms.

"The appeal being suspensive, nothing will happen until it is studied by the Paris Court of Appeal," a judicial source told AFP.

“The decision of Tapat is perfectly justified and motivated in law and in fact with regard to the course of Pierre Alessandri.

We hope that it will be confirmed ", declared Me Barbolosi, specifying that the court of appeal had" two months to hear "the appeal.

For several years, Pierre Alessandri, like Alain Ferrandi, has been contesting the refusal of his rapprochement in a Corsican prison which he considers “discriminatory” and synonymous with “state revenge”.

A “political” rather than a “legal” decision

On Wednesday, Gilles Simeoni, the autonomist president of the Corsican executive council, described on Twitter the deliberations of Tapat as a “legal decision” and the appeal of the anti-terrorist prosecution as a “political decision”, “which gives priority to the spirit of vengeance over l 'demand for justice'.

The Sentencing Court ordered a semi-liberty measure for Pierre Alessandri, detained for 22 years.

Legal decision.

The anti-territorial prosecution has filed a suspensive appeal.

Political decision.

Which gives priority to the spirit of vengeance over the demand for justice.

The lifting of their status of particularly signaled detainee (DPS) is necessary for any reconciliation on the island, which does not have any prison capable of accommodating this type of detainee.

In March 2020, the local prison commission of Poissy (Yvelines), where they are detained, issued a favorable opinion for this lifting but Prime Minister Jean Castex refused it on December 21.

Three days before, he had dismissed the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti from any decision relating to "the conditions for the execution of sentences and the prison regime" of the detainees involved in cases that the former lawyer, who defended Yvan Colonna, would have had to deal with.
