Heartbreaking discovery for these passers-by, Tuesday evening in Meyzieu, in the suburbs of Lyon (Rhône).
They discovered a baby hidden in a garbage bag, and abandoned in a grove along an avenue, as revealed by the Lyon Mag site.
The child, whose sex was not specified, was quickly taken care of by the firefighters and the Samu, before being transported to the Woman-Mother-Child hospital in Bron.
He was in good health on Tuesday evening and his condition did not require first aid.
According to local media, he was one day old.
"We are overwhelmed by this discovery," responded the town hall of Meyzieu.
Stating that "the services of the Metropolis and the CCAS of the city remain attentive to situations of vulnerability which require support from the community", the town hall specifies that it is not aware of any complaints for the disappearance or abduction of a child.
A police investigation was opened to establish the circumstances of this abandonment.
