Chinese cellular manufacturer Realme entered the Israeli market about a year ago through the Bug network, the official importer, and brought a fresh breeze to competition in the local cellular market, especially with Shiomi, which has become almost the default of many Israelis to buy a new smartphone.

Chinese manufacturer focus on low cost, along with strong performance and specifications, and last week Israel launched the Realme GT, the new flagship device of the company.

So how does a flagship device feel for 2,099 NIS? We took the device for testing and came back with some very clear conclusions.

Display and structure

The device is quite light - 186 grams - and comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. Although the FHD + resolution is very sharp and bright, and once you get used to the flow of the screen, it is difficult to go back.

On the front, the device looks like another smartphone, with an end-to-end screen, with the front selfie camera embedded in the top left, without a defect. The body of the realme GT is pleasant to hold, and it is not as slippery as most smartphones today thanks to a back made of yellow artificial leather, combined with a black stripe made of glass.

On the other hand, the frame of the device is made of plastic, something that exists in the city in the intermediate devices that you will find in the market. Given the company's decision to brand the smartphone as a premium - a flagship device - this may disappoint some users.

At the bottom of the smartphone is a USB C charging socket, and compared to lots of other flagship devices on the market, the Chinese manufacturer continues to maintain the headphone socket, and even included wired headphones in the package.

However, the company did not specify whether the device is water and dust resistant.

Performence

Brilmi branded the device as a champion in performance.

In fact, it includes advanced specifications that you will find in the leading smartphones on the market today - with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor, 8 GB of working memory (RAM) and support for charging from 0% to 100% in 35 minutes.

The device also combines a steam cooling system with stainless steel in order to optimize the heat dissipation structure of the smartphone.

The device is difficult to challenge, as the powerful specs are not only for the average user looking for a flagship smartphone at a significantly lower price than competitors in the market, but also for heavy consumers or gamers - although it shouts less gaming.

Bottom line, everyday use has gone smoothly and without sluggishness, bugs or stuttering, and if you are one of those who burn hours on social media, browsing the various apps really provides a feeling that not many devices get an ID price tag.

Operating system and battery

What's interesting about the realme GT is the large battery - along with the support for fast charging with a maximum power of 65 watts. This means you can charge the device from 0% to 100% in just 35 minutes. And yes, we checked, and this is not a statistic left only on paper. Also, keep in mind that the luggage you receive in the package is twice as large as any standard luggage.

The device is based on Android 12 and is backed by Realme's operating system - Realme UI 2.0, which is quite reminiscent of ColorOS of the parent company OPPO. The icons are neatly designed, the menus are neatly arranged, and include clever and not too cluttered use - something that Chinese manufacturers fall into quite a bit.

Please note: when you take the device out of the package, you will not be able to choose the Hebrew language. What to do? Choose English, complete the definition - and then in the settings you can switch to Hebrew. Also, in order to connect to the 5G network, the operating system version must be updated - go to Settings> Software Update.

Camera

The realme GT has four cameras, including three rear ones - a Sony 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with a focal length of 4 cm The selfie camera comes with a 16-megapixel sensor.

How are the results? The images we captured in daylight are astonishing, with a high level of detail, sharpness, excellent colors and faithful to the original, and even in less good lighting conditions ("Noise")

On top of that, the night mode also surprised the results, but you should be patient because the camera requires stabilizing the device in front of the object for a few seconds.

In practice, the image comes out clear and none and full of light - without smears.

Also, the 16-megapixel quality selfie camera has shown great results as well.

Bottom line

Let's start with the price: the realme GT is officially sold by Bug for NIS 2,099, and is the cheapest flagship smartphone currently sold in Israel.

At the same time, if you are looking for an affordable device with first-class specifications, an excellent camera, a quality screen and super fast charging - this is just for you.

On the other hand, keep in mind that it is not resistant to water and dust.
