Covid-19: the vaccination schedule to get your health pass on time

2021-08-02T15:12:02.178Z

INFOGRAPHICS - The health pass will be extended on August 9, and will affect more and more people by the end of September. Here are the dates to remember so as not to get stuck on a station platform or in front of a school gate.

The health pass took its first steps on French territory on July 21, when access to certain places of culture and leisure was conditioned by a negative PCR test or a complete vaccination schedule.

The new health law is due to enter into force on August 9 - provided that the Constitutional Council approves it - and will gradually extend the application of this health pass.

Vaccination will become compulsory for certain professions (nursing staff, firefighters, funeral directors, etc.) from September 15.

For other French people, vaccination will remain optional, and the health pass can still be obtained thanks to negative PCR tests.

However, this solution will become more complicated in the fall, the government not ruling out making these tests payable.

To obtain a complete vaccination schedule while respecting the imposed deadlines, the French must therefore do it in advance.

These dates take into account not only the 21-day delay between vaccine doses (Pfizer and Moderna), but also the 7-day delay after the second injection to “validate” his health pass.

In addition, for the AstraZeneca vaccine, the time is longer (between 63 and 84 days), and the Jensen vaccine requires only one dose, while for people who have contracted Covid-19 within 6 months before vaccination, only one dose is needed.

  • For nursing staff and other professions affected by the vaccination obligation

The nursing staff must, if the bill is validated by the Constitutional Council, be required to be vaccinated from September 15.

This obligation concerns the staff of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities and medico-social establishments, but also firefighters (the full list is available here, in article 12).

In order to obtain a complete vaccination schedule by September 15, you must have received a first dose by August 18 and a second by September 8 at the latest.

However, flexibility is provided for people who received a first dose before September 15.

They will have until October 15 to complete their vaccination schedule, and will be able to continue working on presentation of a negative PCR.

After this date, it will be impossible for them to work, and they will therefore be deprived of their salary.

  • For other professions affected by the health pass

In addition to nursing staff, several other professions will have to present a health pass in order to work.

Remember that this health pass can be ensured by a complete vaccination schedule or not a negative PCR.

These occupations are the personnel of interregional transport, fairs, exhibitions, seminars, restaurants, bars, and leisure activities, as well as those working in the shopping centers concerned.

By August 30, these people must be able to present a complete health pass.

To obtain the complete vaccination schedule by this date, they will have to receive a first dose on August 2, and a second on the 23rd. Due to a lack of health pass, these people will be denied access to their workplace, and therefore their salary withdrawn. .

  • Extended health pass

Since July 21, 2021, the health pass is required to access certain places of leisure and culture bringing together more than 50 people (performance halls, amusement parks, concert halls, festivals, sports halls, cinemas ... ).

From August 9, it will be extended to interregional transport, trade fairs, seminars, restaurants, bars, leisure activities, as well as to certain shopping centers, by decision of the prefects, and to all healthcare facilities, except emergencies.

If you do not yet have a complete vaccination schedule, it is now too late to get it by August 9, but in the meantime, it is still possible to present a negative PCR test.

  • For middle and high school students

While college and high school students have a pleasant holiday this August, the next school year will bring its share of changes.

From September 2, when a proven case of Covid-19 is identified in a grade 5 and above class, students will need a health pass to return to class.

They will therefore have to either present a complete vaccination schedule or a negative PCR to physically go to class.

To get the full immunization schedule by that date, students should receive a first dose on August 5, and a second on August 26.

  • For 12-17 year olds

Minors are still exempt from the health pass, but as of September 30, they will be required in the same way as their elders, to access restaurants, interregional transport, fairs, exhibitions, etc. To obtain the complete vaccination schedule by this date, 12-17 year olds should receive a first dose before September 2 and a second before November 23.
