Roybon rave party: after three days of celebration, still 500 people on site

The rave party started on Saturday evening near the former ZAD of Roybon, in Isère, is still going on this Tuesday morning with around 500 participants.

They had warned.

Arrived on Saturday evening at the start of the rave party, some participants told Dauphiné Libéré that they intended to stay "several days".

Three days later, around 500 die-hard chirps keep the Roybon (Isère) rave party alive this Tuesday morning.

Contacted, the gendarmerie indicates that the event is taking place calmly, without any overflow or particular incident.

The control system for vehicles leaving the perimeter "is maintained in the vicinity", it is specified.

Monday evening, a thousand more participants were present on this site, a former ZAD (zone to be defended) occupied between 2014 and 2020 by opponents of the Center Parcs project.

"About 400 vehicles left the site and were subject to checks", declared the prefecture of Isère in a press release, giving rise to 70 fines mainly for consumption or trafficking of drugs but also for a third because of traffic offenses or those relating to the degradation of forest roads.

Controls until the last participant

And the gendarmes are not about to leave the scene: the controls will be "continued until the last participant," says the prefecture.

The Isère firefighters have also made available to ravers still on site self-tests to detect Covid-19 and prevent the virus from spreading after the wild party.

A judicial inquiry was opened "to determine the responsibilities of the organizers," Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant announced on Sunday in a joint statement with the prefect of Isère.

Several other rave parties have been reported by the authorities since Saturday, with various crowds: around 1,500 people in Gironde, nearly 600 in Vendée and 800 in Normandy, without any incident being noted.
