Dark discovery for the firefighters of Le Mans.
They recovered a woman's corpse on Wednesday in the Sarthe, quai Ledru Rollin.
According to Ouest France, it could be the woman who fell into the water last Sunday.
Two witnesses had witnessed the scene and raised the alarm.
According to them, this fall was voluntary: it would have stepped over the guardrail of a footbridge and would have jumped into the water.
The woman in her forties was then "caught in the eddies of the dam," they told Ouest France.
They tried to rescue her, but she disappeared under the waves a few meters away.
The incident had prompted the arrival of a dozen firefighters, Samu, and the police.
Divers had also carried out research in the water, but without success.
Next to Le Mans, another death caused a local stir recently.
In La Flèche, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a woman was killed, and two men were wounded, probably by stabbing, during a "violent assault".
