If you jump on the beach in Tel Aviv these days and look at the sky, you may feel like in a futuristic movie: This morning (Tuesday), SkylinX will hold a first-of-its-kind pilot in collaboration with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, to establish a criminal route for skimmers from Jaffa port to Reading.
SkylinX is one of the start-ups that participated in the Citizon program, the innovation laboratory and the experimental field that Atidim Park Tel Aviv established in collaboration with the municipality and Tel Aviv University, in order to promote solutions for a smart city.
Together with SkylinX, AirwayZ, which is responsible for the operating system that controls the skimmers, and Flytech IL, which will operate the skimmers in the lane, will also operate. In addition, the company is collaborating with Flying Cargo, a leading logistics company, and Gett Delivery, which help connect the new service to end customers.
Meanwhile, among the commercial entities that are considering using this type of infrastructure for commercial purposes, one can find the company Nespresso Israel, C.M.L.
Medical and Assuta Hospital.
The pilot will last about six months and is expected to expand to other areas of the city.
Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai welcomed the move and said: "The future is already here. We are starting a pilot in the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo that will test in a measured and correct way the ability to use skimmers commercially in the urban space."

"We do this in a controlled manner in order to gauge the capacity and also to find the right balance in the open and free urban airways," Huldai added.
"Only after the trial period will we review the findings in collaboration with all the professionals and examine how to move forward on the issue. I congratulate all the partners on the move."
Sagi Niv, CEO of Atidim Park Tel Aviv, said that "SkyLinks is exactly the kind of success we are proud to produce at Citizon, the start-up incubator at Atidim Park Tel Aviv.
" "Support for business development, together with a supportive and correct environment in continuous and quality cooperation with the University and the Tel Aviv Municipality, all of these ultimately produce the ability to implement innovative and groundbreaking projects."
