It is a summer of natural disasters in Europe.
And one of the particularly affected countries is Turkey.
For weeks, severe forest fires raged in the south-west of the country and left devastation.
Severe floods are now causing chaos in the north.
In the Kastamonu region near the Black Sea, a river overflowed its banks after heavy rains.
The provinces of Sinop and Bartin were also affected.
The property damage is already enormous.
The flood destroyed houses, shops, streets, cars.
These pictures show the force with which the water flowed through the places.
At least nine people were killed in the disaster and at least one person is still missing.
900 people had to be evacuated from the affected areas, some with helicopters, because the flood damaged bridges or caused them to collapse.
There was also a power cut in numerous villages.
Heavy rainfall and flooding are more common in the region in summer.
At least five people died last year.
At least there is currently a prospect of improvement: the heavy rain is expected to subside on Thursday evening.
