A young man killed by stabbing in Haute-Saône

The Vesoul prosecutor's office has opened an investigation for "intentional homicide" after the discovery of a body Wednesday evening in Haute-Saône, near u


He was only 19 years old.

This Wednesday evening, a young man was found dead near a pond in Plancher-Bas in the east of Haute-Saône near the Territoire de Belfort.

He was stabbed to death, slashed with several stab wounds.

The victim's body was discovered by a witness around 9 p.m., said Vesoul's deputy prosecutor, Stéphane Clément, confirming information from France Bleu Besançon.

Still according to France Bleu, the 33-year-old witness would be “shocked” and currently taken care of.

The young man lived several kilometers away, in the department of Indre-et-Loire.

An autopsy will be performed on Friday.

There could be several aggressors

For the moment, the reasons which led to the death of this young man remain unclear.

The unfolding of the facts and the motive are for the moment "nebulous", according to a source close to the investigation to AFP.

"A priori, there could be several attackers," adds the same source.

The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie of Besançon and to the research brigade of Lure (Haute-Saône).

No suspect had yet been arrested Thursday morning.

A month ago, another young man was also killed by stabbing in the neighboring department of Doubs.

A 17-year-old boy had been taken into police custody.
