Coming soon: Longer videos (Photo: AP)
YouTube, Behind You:
Chinese social network Tiktok has begun exploring the possibility of extending the length of each video, and changing the limit of up to 3 minutes available today, to 5 minutes, according to a Twitter account of Matt Navara, a social media consultant.
Navara, who was given early access to the new option, posted a screenshot of a message from the app that read: "Upload videos up to 5 minutes long from your device. Make sure you are using the latest version of Tiktok before trying the feature on the app."

Last December, Tiktok increased the length of videos from 60 seconds to 3 minutes.
A few months later, Instagram also allowed users of Reels - its clone for Tiktok - to post videos up to 30 seconds long.
Tiktok is entering a field that Google's YouTube unquestionably dominates, and may challenge it quite a bit - if the wind really blows.
One user summed up the feeling in the most accurate way and wrote: "YouTube is typing ...".
