The investigation will have to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
A fifty-year-old died in hospital after being violently assaulted on Friday in the Fort-Nieulay district in Calais (Pas-de-Calais), reports Nord Littoral.
According to testimonies collected by the newspaper, a fight would have broken out between the victim and a teenager aged about fifteen.
No one knows what exactly happened, or why the teenager and the victim fought.
According to a local woman interviewed by Nord Littoral, the boy allegedly hit the father of the family in the face with "a chain", after which the victim fell to the ground.
"The mother of the teenager arrived just after and took him by car", also testified this neighbor.
No questioning
Supported by the emergency services shortly after the assault, the victim succumbed to an otorrhagia (bleeding from the ear).
Should there be a link with the brawl?
The authorities want to be cautious.
"The investigators have been informed of a fight, but there is nothing very clear and we can not assure that the death is linked to the beatings received", explained to the newspaper, Saturday, the prosecutor deputy of Boulogne-sur-Mer.
An autopsy was to be performed this Sunday.
However, investigators have already been able to determine that the victim had two grams of alcohol per liter of blood.
La Voix du Nord revealed this Sunday that no arrest has yet been made.
It is in this same district of Calais that a 12-year-old teenager was indicted in early August for rape and sexual assault.
He is suspected of sexually assaulting two children, an 8-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.
The 12-year-old had not been incarcerated, but had been placed on probation.
