Microsoft announced that
Windows 11 will be released on October 5.
The new operating system will be available as a free update for Windows 10 PCs, or on new hardware that
ships with Windows 11 preloaded.
The free update to Windows 11 will begin rolling out on October 5.
However, like many previous Windows updates, it
will be available in phases.
The update will first be offered to new devices that have the technical characteristics, and then Windows 11 will be available for more devices on the market in the weeks and
months after October 5.
“After the great Windows 10 learnings, we want to make sure we give you the best possible experience,” explained Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing at Microsoft.
"We expect all
'eligible'
devices to
be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022."
On existing Windows 10 PCs, Windows Update will let people know when the update is available for Windows 11. You
can
also
check if the computer applies for the Windows 11 update through Windows Update
, or the verification application Microsoft Dedicated PC Status Status (currently in preview).

While Windows 11 will be released on October 5, not all of the announced features will be available.
Microsoft will bring Android apps to Windows 11 in partnership with Amazon and Intel, but
this feature won't be available as soon as it can be updated
, for example.
A preview of Android apps in Windows 11 will be available to Windows Insiders in the coming months, suggesting that it probably wo
n't be released for all Windows 11 users until 2022.
Microsoft clarified its minimum system requirements for Windows 11 last week, but it also revealed a fix for those that don't meet them.
In principle, you need a computer with a 1 GHz 64-bit processor with two or more cores,
4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a TPM 1.2 chip, which was the one that generated the most controversy.
If the PC or laptop is not fully compatible with Windows 11, Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 until October 14, 2025. However, it is unclear how many major updates Microsoft will release for Windows 10 over the next four years.
A 21H2 update will arrive later this year for Windows 10 users that includes GPU
compute support
in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL),
Windows Hello enhancements, and WPA3 H2E Wi-Fi security support.

The American company told The Verge site that it will not prevent PC users who
do not meet the minimum hardware requirements from installing Windows 11.
This is a process that Microsoft will
not recommend or advertise to users
, who will have to manually download and install the new operating system themselves.
However, the tech giant later reported that PCs that do not meet technical requirements are
not guaranteed to receive Windows 11 updates,
and may not even have security and driver updates available.
This announcement from Microsoft is related to the communication of the minimum requirements of Windows 11 with the announcement of the new system.
It should be remembered that the new operating system - the Home version -
will be free for users who use Windows 10 when it is available for download
sometime in October, according to rumors.
Unlike current software for notebooks and desktop PCs, the most important visual novelty is that the start menu and icons have been moved to the middle of the screen.
The new design also includes a dark and a light mode.
Likewise, Windows 11 adds compatibility with applications for cell phones with the
Android
operating
system
, so that these can be downloaded from the application store directly, through the Amazon App Store.
It is also designed to unify the experience on tablets and computers.
In addition, they promise
improvements for use with a stylus and touch screen keyboard
with this type of technology.
