About two months after the official announcement of its new operating system - Windows 11 - Microsoft announced last night (Tuesday) that the new version will be officially released on October 5th.
Windows 10 users with appropriate specifications will be able to upgrade to the new operating system for free.
"We expect all computers capable of running Windows 11 to be upgraded by mid-2022," the official Microsoft blog said.
The company also promised that they will provide support for Windows 10 by October 14, 2025, and that the next feature update for Windows 10 will come later this year.
How can you upgrade?
Microsoft explains that at launch time Windows 10 users will be notified in Windows Update that the upgrade is available.
However, on October 5, not all the features that the operating system has to offer will be available immediately, including the ability to install Android applications on top of Windows 11 - in collaboration with Amazon and Intel.

Significant design change
The interface has undergone a facelift, the start button to the center of the screen (for those who really mind, you can move it back to the corner), the icons have been replaced, new themes have been added, the graphics have been improved and the windows have rounded corners.
In addition, say hello to the live tiles on the Start menu - from now on they are static icons.
Microsoft also emphasizes that the response of the operating system is good compared to the previous generation, along with background updates that will come in a small volume by 40 percent.
In addition, the company says that the new version is more friendly to those who use touch screens, with a more natural and cleaner gesture.

Another innovation is the reuse of widgets - floating components that allow information to be viewed while working, similar to what exists in the various operating systems for smartphones.
Microsoft has added a "glass" panel on which are placed all the widgets like news, weather or our photo collection, which we are used to seeing as live tiles in the Start menu.
Another interesting change that will come in Windows 11 is the Snap layouts feature, and with a long click you can select the location and layout of the applications on the screen.
In general, it seems that Microsoft is taking a page from Apple's book in this version regarding the centralization and patronage of the work environment over the user.
