The screenings will continue until Saturday night, but today (Thursday) the Israeli competition came to an end, with the announcement of the winners and winners.
The joint jury for the plot and documentary competition consisted of Lior Ashkenazi, Maya Koenig and Anat Even. In the plot segment, it was exceptionally decided to split the main prize between two. In both cases, it is the director's second film - "Someone will love someone" by Hadas Ben Aroya and "Remove worry from your heart" by Tom Shoval.
On "Someone Will Love Someone" the jury said - "The film presents an unconventional and even innovative structure, sharp and honed dialogues and an original worldview. To be intimate and for a desperate search for the warmth and comfort of an entire generation. " And on "Remove worry from your heart" he said - "Tom Shoval's challenging film ranges from a fantastic world to a realistic world. In his unique way, Shoval manages to look at the complex Israeli reality and produces a social and poignant allegory with a sober and ironic look."
"Someone Will Love Someone" also won the lead actress award - Elisheva Weil. "Remove worry from your heart" on the other hand also picked up the photography awards (Daniel Miller and Ziv Berkovich) and the music (Asher Goldschmidt). And more awards: Pini Tabger won the screenplay award for "More Than I Deserve," and Omar Perlman for the lead role in the film "The Swimmer. "" Cinema Sabaya "by Orit Fox Rotem won the debut film award.
